INNISFIL, Ontario — In a battle against some of the best in Ontario Legends Series competition, it’d be Parker Traves coming out on top on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Kevin Foisy won the second heat ahead of Joe Adams, Dawson Drimmie, Shane Pollock, Glenn Morris, and Wendy Adams.
Matt Haufe won the third heat ahead of Traves, Ledson, Tyson, Portt, and the 42.
Pollock would go around for a spin on Lap 2, with Kevin Foisy going for the daily double ahead of Adams, Drimmie, Josh Inglis, Pollock, Morris, Feeney, and Adams.
Come feature time, Nick Ledson started pole ahead of Matt Haufe, Joe Adams, Parker Traves, Kevin Foisy, Dawson Drimmie, Miles Tyson, Nick Portt, Shane Pollock, Glenn Morris, Paul Pierik, the 42, Josh Inglis, and Wendy Adams.
Nick Ledson would grab the early advantage ahead of Haufe and Traves, with Foisy and Joe Adams side-by-side for fourth ahead of Tyson, Portt, Drimmie, and Pollock. Traves began to make his way forward, passing Haufe on Lap 8, however the caution came out a lap later for Tyson spinning Adams in turn three and four. With 22 laps to go, Ledson led Traves, Haufe, Foisy, Tyson, Portt, Drimmie, Inglis, the 42, Pollock, and Pierik.
The restart saw a battle for the lead between Ledson and Traves ahead of Haufe, Foisy, Tyson, Portt, and Drimmie. Ledson got the top spot on Lap 13, with Haufe getting alongside Traves for second. They’d come up on the lap car of Wendy Adams, allowing Traves to get ahead.
Traves wasn’t going to stop there, though, tracking down and passing Ledson for the top spot on lap 16, as Haufe continued to run third ahead of Foisy, Tyson, Portt, Drimmie, and the 42. Joe Adams would get by Inglis for ninth, getting alongside the 42 for eighth on Lap 19, as Haufe challenged Ledson for second a lap later.
The second caution would then come out on Lap 21 for Portt spinning off of turn four. With 10 laps to go, Traves led Haufe, Ledson, Foisy, Tyson, Drimmie, Joe Adams, the 42, Inglis, Morris, Feeney, Pollock, Pierik, and Wendy Adams.
Traves got a good restart, though the yellow flag reappeared with Tyson going around on the backstretch. The second attempt was clean and green, with Traves holding serve. Haufe would challenge Traves for the lead with a couple laps to go, but was unable to complete the pass.
Parker Traves picked up the win ahead of Matt Haufe, Nick Ledson, Joe Adams, and Dawson Drimmie. The 42 was sixth followed by Kevin Foisy, Miles Tyson, Josh Inglis, and Paul Pierik. Shane Pollock placed 11th, followed by Glenn Morris, Brandon Feeney, and Wendy Adams.
