After winning the Autumn Colours Classic to close out the 2019 season, Andy Kamrath will be looking for his fifth straight Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified presented by Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd., Touchwood Cabinets, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop victory on Saturday.
“We’re feeling pretty good coming into this weekend,” he told SHORT TRACK MUSINGS. “I think we got a shot at it for sure. It defiantly won’t be easy, but confidence is for sure up.”
After watching his teammate Shawn Chenoweth finish eighth last season at Jukasa, the London Recreational Racing team have been working hard in hopes of having a stronger program this time around.
“We got out for some testing both at Sunset and Jukasa last weekend,” he commented. “The car picked up where it was last year and the work Shawn, myself and the whole crew put into it throughout the winter seems to be responding well.”
Beyond this weekend, the No. 89c LRR, Havelock Metal Roofs, AM Group of Companies, Imagewraps Modified will be out twice more this season, when the series heads to Flamboro Speedway and back to Jukasa in September.
“We’re excited to get back to Flamboro, (as) walking into Shawn’s backyard I know we will always have speed, a lot of notes around that place and excited to try a few new things as well,” he said.
Unlike most of his competitors this weekend, Kamrath has gotten in some racing action this year, of a different variety though as he ran the pair of Mini Stock shows at Flamboro the past couple months.
“The shows have gone decent but they can defiantly use some tightening up on a few things,” he said. “We will not be going back for the Sept 5th show until some of the rules get sorted out.”
Be sure to tune into http://www.GForceTV.net on Saturday, August 8 to watch the action from Jukasa Motor Speedway live.
