Delaware Speedway announced today the cancellation of their racing events season for 2020.
“The momentum of the last few seasons throughout all weekly divisions and Special Events have been incredibly rewarding for the organizers and fans of Delaware Speedway. We trust that our teams, spectators, partners and stakeholders stand with us in this difficult decision, and prepare to return strong for the 2021 racing season” said Russ Urlin of Delaware Speedway. “We wish all our home competitors luck in their summer 2020 ventures”, Russ continued.
Similar announcements have also been made by CTMP (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park) among other premiere Canadian Motorsports venues.
As the longest consecutive running track in Canada, Delaware Speedway is working on building a one-off race (where possible) to continue this historical record well into the future. Please stay tuned, and show your support online to keep this record alive.
Furthermore, the Speedway will continue to be open for Monday and Saturday practice for teams (using Social Distancing Protocols) as well as private rentals where spectators are unable to attend.
