Running inside the top-10 all day long, Jade Franklin put together a solid event en route to placing sixth in the Operation Green Flag 60-lap affair at Flamboro Speedway.
Starting ninth for the green flag, the driver of the No. 31 kept himself just inside the top-10 in the early stages, avoiding an early race incident among the leaders to gain a couple positions. The Lap 8 restart saw him battle inside the top-five, though ultimately fading back to seventh as the first 30-lap segment hit the midway point. Unfortunately, with the handling not to his liking, Franklin would drop back to 10th by the time the caution flew for the halfway break.
Returning to the track following the break, he remained just outside the top-10 till just before Lap 15, where he was able to make his way back into the top-10. From there, he continued to gain positions, moving up into eighth with eight laps to go through a thrilling three-wide move. He then used a couple final restarts to his advantage, ultimately crossing the finish line with a sixth-place finish.
Big shout-out to Cory McAllister and Caldecott Millwright Services for jumping on-board as the primary sponsor for the event. Additionally, thanks to Praxxair Barrie, Mighton’s Welding & Mechnical Services, North River Motorsports, and Redline Signs & Apparel for their support.
