Showing speed on each stop on the schedule, Jaden Riddell contended for victories en route to placing eighth in the year-end Living Lighting, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd OSCAAR Pro Sprint standings.
Right out of the gate at Sunset Speedway, Riddell made his way through the field after starting last to score a runner-up finish. He then backed it up with a pair of heat victories at Grand Bend Speedway before another second-place result in the feature.
He was fast when the series returned to Sunset Speedway, though suffered a last-lap spin in the first feature en route to finishing seventh. He would once again go for another loop around in the second 20-lap affair, but was able to rebound this time around to place third. Everything was back to smooth sailing when the series headed to Flamboro Speedway, with Riddell making his way through the field in the first four laps en route to a runner-up.
He was fast once again at Peterborough Speedway, battling for the win in his qualifying heat when he would blow a motor. Forced to sit on the sidelines for the rest of the night, Riddell ultimately fell out of championship contention with failing to start to the feature.
He would make his return to the series at month’s end at Flamboro Speedway, back to form with a victory in his qualifying heat. He then ran inside the top-five throughout the feature, rebounding from a spin with 10 laps to go finish fifth.
He would return to the Hamilton, Ontario based oval a couple months later for Frostoberfest, running inside the top-three all race long en route to finishing third.
Despite the season not going as warranted, Riddell proved to be a front running contender and should be considered a threat for race wins and the championship heading into 2020. On behalf of OSCAAR, congratulations on your success this season and best of luck next year.
