Robin McLean Ends off Season in Outlaw Midget ACC Victory Lane

After experiencing bad luck throughout the season, everything came together on Saturday night for Robin McLean as he won the Outlaw Midget Autumn Colours Classic feature.

Rob McCall was one of the quickest car on Saturday, but ran into some bad luck as he spun out of the lead during his heat. Jessica James picked up the win ahead of Mike Bradley, Adam Carrothers, Robin McLean, McCall, Zack Millman, Adam Tyo, Darian Buttivant, Larry Lawson, and Wally Wilson.

The second heat would see Ryan Brown go for a spin through the backstretch grass. Dave Bradley picked up the win ahead of Jody Bound, Nigel Buttivant, Josh Inglis, Kevin Spiez, Rob Harrison, Wayne McKibbon, and Johnny Paradzinski.

James went for the daily double ahead of Mike Bradley, McLean, Carrothers, Wilson, Darian Buttivant, and Lawson.

Jody Bound won the fourth heat ahead of Nigel Buttivant, Brown, Spiez, Dave Bradley, Harrison, Brown, and McKibbon.

Come feature time, Wally Wilson started pole ahead of Larry Lawson, Rob McCall, Rob Harrison, Josh Inglis, Robin McLean, Wayne McKibbon, Kevin Spiez, Jody Bound, Ryan Brown, Jessica James, Mike Bradley, Nigel Buttivant, Dave Bradley, Adam Tyo, Adam Carrothers, Johnny Paradzinski, and Darian Buttivant.

The action started right away on the opening lap, with Harrison going around in turn one, causing drivers to scatter all over and make contact in the process. Ultimately, the following drivers were collected in the accident – James, Nigel Buttivant, Darian Buttivant, Brown, and Dave Bradley.

The second attempt would see the spin cycle continue, with McCall going around on the frontstretch. He would avoid contact with others, and get back moving without a yellow flag. Wilson would hold the early lead with McLean up to second ahead of Inglis. Mike Bradley would get alongside Inglis for third on Lap 3, with McLean alongside Wilson for the top spot.

Robin McLean moved into the lead on Lap 4 ahead of Wilson and Bradley, with Inglis alongside Bradley for third a lap later. Both Bradley and Bound would get by Wilson for second on Lap 6, battling each other as Inglis moved up to fourth ahead of Wilson, Carrothers, Spiez, Lawson, McKibbon, and Dave Bradley.

Bound took over the second spot on Lap 9 ahead of Mike Bradley, Ignlis, Wilson, Carrothers and Spiez, as Paradzinski came down pit road done for the event. Dave Bradley would get alongside Lawson for eighth on Lap 11, completing the pass a lap later as McKibbon and McCall battled for 10th. McCall then moved into ninth on Lap 13, ahead of Lawson and McKibbon.

At the front of the field, Bound would manage to get alongside McLean as they weaved their way through lap traffic. He was unable to complete the pass, though, falling back in line before the second caution came out on Lap 19 for Lawson stopped on the backstretch following a slide through the grass.

Robin McLean got a good restart, out-battling Jody Bound for the victory. Adam Carrothers finished third, followed by Mike Bradley and Josh Inglis. Dave Bradley finished sixth, followed by Wally Wilson, Rob McCall, Kevin Spiez, and Wayne McKibbon. Ryan Brown finished 11th, followed by Adam Tyo, Rob Harrison, Larry Lawson, Johnny Paradzinski, Darian Buttivant, Jessica James, Nigel Buttivant, and Zack Millman.
