INNISFIL, Ontario — After a couple weeks of struggling, it’s no secret that Robbie Sikes will be looking to rebound with a solid run on Saturday night.
This past weekend did not start out well for Sikes as he would lay down a lap of 15.28 seconds to qualify 11th for the first of two 35-lap features. He would battle hard from the drop of the green flag, dropping back a couple positions on the initial start. He’d keep pushing through the second half of the event, crossing the finish line with a 12th-place finish.
He would look to rebound with a strong run in the second feature, running 11th in the opening laps, though ultimately would fall back to 15th by Lap 11. Unfortunately, his feature would come to an end with a spin on Lap 16. He would be credited with a 16th-place finish.
For Robbie SIkes, it marks the second straight weekend placing outside of the top-10 due to incidents. The team has proven that they can run up front, as evident by a pair of top-10 finishes for the rookie on opening night.
With a 50 lap feature on deck for Saturday, July 13 at Sunset Speedway, Sikes will hope to combine patience with speed, and be there when it counts at the checkered flag with a solid run.
