INNISFIL, Ontario — Showing more speed each week behind the wheel, Cheyenne Charles scored her first career top-five finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Charles was fast from the drop of the first green flag, placing fourth in both of her qualifying heats.
Starting seventh in the feature, she would immediately move her way forward, running sixth through the early laps. As the race got closer to the conclusion, she began to close up on the back of Ken McCormick. Despite several attempts to get underneath him not paying off, her persistent worked to her advantage as she made the last race pass to cross the finish line in fifth.
She would then be credited with a fourth-place finish after another driver was disqualified in post-race technical inspection. Notably, it marks her second straight top-10 performance.
Charles will continue her season next weekend at Sunset Speedway on Sunday, June 30.
Charles is proud to receive marketing support from Just Two Guys Property Maintenance, Clean Up and Demolition, Earth Electric, and G&H Auto Service.
