With off-and-on rain showers on Sunday, the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd. were unable to get in their Spring Velocity feature presented by Matteo’s Pizza & Café.
The series did get their season started, though, as they ran a pair of heats on Saturday as part of the double race day weekend.
The first heat did not fare well for everybody, as contact between Leroy Robinson and Dan Rothwell resulted in Rothwell making significant contact with the inside retaining wall, ending his weekend early. There’d be a quick caution to follow, with Bradley Holt going for a spin in turns one and two. Tyler Hawn picked up the win ahead of Dalen Martin, Jerry Broom, Steve Book, Jeremy McLean, and Holt.
The second heat was slowed twice as a result of a pair of spins by Nick Clarke. Dalen Martin picked up his first career heat win ahead of Hawn, Broom, Clarke, Holt, Book, and Robinson.
As mentioned, wet weather on Sunday did not allow for the 30-lap feature to be run. As a result, drivers in attendance will be awarded their heat points, as well as 50 show-up points.
