BY THE NUMBERS: Klotz Engine Repair and Machine Shop Mini Stocks

While Shawn Taylor was crowned the 2018 Klotz Engine Repair and Machine Shop Mini Stock Champion at Flamboro Speedway, there were plenty of drivers who had success over the course of this past season.

feature wins helped make 2018 memorable for Mark Klotz.

4.5 was the best average finish of all drivers, set by Shawn Taylor. Billy Schwartzenburg also boasted this average across the two features he filled in for Rich Schwartzenburg on June 9.

4.833 was the second best average finish of all competitors, set by Jake Watson; he only ran 12 features in 2018, though.

4.923 was the third best average finish of all drivers, set by Jake Gilbert.

feature victories by Gilbert and Taylor led the way for the season.

drivers stood out among the rest virtue of scoring 12 or more top-five’s – Gilbert, Erik Dalla Riva, Karl Sault, Taylor, and Wayde Thorne.

competitors picked up 20 or more top-10’s – Gilbert, Dalla Riva, Rich Schwartzenburg, Jonathan Ayrton, and Taylor.

5.125 was the fourth best average finish of all drivers, set by Sault.

5.625 was the fifth best average finish of all competitors, set by Thorne.

8th of September saw Ayrton break through for a feature victory.

10 drivers won a feature in 2018.

21 top-fives by Taylor topped all drivers this year.

24 top-10’s by Taylor led all competitors this season. The only night he finished outside of the top-10 was both features opening night due to mechanical gremlins.

26 features were ran across 13 nights of competition.

26th of May was the opening night, and also the lone feature victory of the season for Mike Hooper.

32 drivers ran at least one race.

46 of Thorne won a pair of features.

79 of Kyle Istead scored a feature victory on September 1st.

81 of Sault picked up three feature wins in 2018.

86 of Dalla Riva got his first career feature victory on August 4th.

88 of Jake Watson won three features, despite only running six nights this year.
