END OF YEAR OBSERVATIONS: OSCAAR Pro Midgets

From Peterborough Speedway in May all the way to Peterborough Speedway in October, the OSCAAR Pro Midgets were fast as ever, with great competition throughout the field.

While known as the By the Numbers piece in the past, this season will see a bit of a change in how it’s conducted. But here is your fabulous end of year review….

2 drivers split the victories for the 14 features ran this past season – Jordan Hanna and Daniel Hawn

was the best average finish of all drivers this season, set by J.R. Fitzpatrick in his lone appearance at Flamboro Speedway in July.

2.36 was the best average finish of drivers to run most of the events (and second overall), set by Hawn.

2.57 was the second-best average finish of drivers to run most of the events (and third overall), set by Hanna.

3rd at Peterborough in August, followed by two more repeats later on in the year, marked the season-best effort for James Stanley.

top-fives in the rookie campaign for Brody Rickwood led him to completing the year ranked third overall.

4.82 was the third-best average finish of drivers to run most of the events (and fourth overall), set by Craig Pitchell.

was the fifth-best average finish of the season, set by Kelly Summers in her lone appearance at Flamboro Speedway in July.

drivers scored more than five feature top-fives – Hawn, Hanna, Rob Summers, Ted Greenwood, and Pitchell.

feature victories by Hawn ranked second of all drivers this season. Notably, five of those came in a row to round out the year.

competitors scored 10 or more feature top-10’s in 2018.

top-10’s for Steve Belfry aided him to complete the year ranked fifth overall.

drivers won at least one heat event. Just two drivers won more than three, though.

feature victories by Hanna led all the drivers this season. Notably, he won five in a row to start off the year.

points was all that separated Hanna and Hawn at year’s end.

10 heat wins by both Hanna and Hawn led the series.

13 feature top-fives by Hawn led all drivers this season. He and Hanna (12) were the only drivers to score nine or more in the 14 features.

14 feature top-10’s by Hanna led all drivers this season.

16 drivers scored at least one feature top-five in 2018.

26 drivers scored at least one feature top-10 in 2018.

27 drivers started at least one feature event in 2018.
