Shae Gemmell Comes Back From First Feature Crash to Score Victory

After making significant contact with the turn two wall in the first 50-lap feature, Shae Gemmell came back to take the win in the third event.

Once the green flag was dropped, Gemmell took the early lead from the pole ahead of Cayden Lapcevich as Pete Shepherd and Mat Box battled for third. Shepherd got the spot on Lap 3, bringing Shawn Chenoweth, J.R. Fitzpatrick, Andrew Gresel, Brandon Watson and Chad Corcoran through with him over the next four laps.

Box now ran ninth ahead of Mark Burbridge, Steve Cashmore, Kevin Albers, and Keith Temple. The shuffling continued, with Albers taking over ninth on Lap 28 ahead of Box, with Cashmore and Temple in toe. Watson would then get by Gresel for sixth at Lap 32, while Shepherd passed Lapcevich for second on Lap 35, with the caution flying a lap later for Albers spinning in turn four.

Gemmell got a good restart to keep the lead, while Shepherd got sideways. This allowed Lapcevich to move back up to second ahead of Fitzpatrick and Watson. But the caution would fly for an incident in turns one and two involving Elliott, Ruddy, Wheaton, and Cashmore.

Gemmell got another good restart with Fitzpatrick up to second as Watson battled Lapcevich for third. Watson got the spot with 11 laps to go ahead of Lapcevich and Chenoweth.

Shae Gemmell took the win ahead of Brandon Watson, J.R. Fitzpatrick, Cayden Lapcevich, and Shawn Chenoweth. Andrew Gresel finished sixth, followed by Chad Corcoran, Pete Shepherd, Mark Burbridge, and Kevin Albers. Mat Box placed 11th, followed by Steve Cashhmore, Brent Wheller, Jerry Wheaton, and James Horner. Keith Temple finished 16th, followed by Jeff Ruddy, Gary Elliott, Jordan Lawrence, and Hudson Nagy.
