Throughout the year, Tim Norris has been fast on a weekly basis, and that continued on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway as he picked up the feature victory in the Ontario Pro Challenge Velocity 250 main event.
Mike Johnson won the first heat ahead of Kyle Batty, Bryan Stevanous, Tim Batty, Rick Sealy, Peter Hattin, Tim Norris, and Larry Majerie.
Tim Norris won the second heat ahead of Hattin, Stevanous, Kyle Batty, Tim Batty, Majerie, and Johnson.
Come feature time, Mike Johnson started pole ahead of Bryan Stevanous, Tim Batty, Kyle Batty, Rick Sealy, Larry Majerie, Tim Norris, and Peter Hattin,
Stevanous jumped out to the early lead ahead of Tim Batty as Kyle Batty battled Johnson for third. Kyle completed the pass on Lap 2, with Norris following him through two laps later. Kyle would move into second on Lap 6, with Norris following him through to third a lap later to bump Tim Batty back to fourth.
Kyle Batty’s climb through the field was complete on Lap 8 as he’d take the top spot ahead of Norris, bumping Stevanous back to third. With 10 laps on the board, Tim Batty ran fourth ahead of Majerie, Sealy and Hattin. Hattin then made his way by Sealy for sixth on Lap 15, with the caution flying the next lap for Majerie rolling to a stop in turns one and two.
Tim Norris got a good restart ahead of Tim and Kyle Batty, with Kyle getting alongside Tim for second on Lap 18. The brothers battled back and forth for the next three laps, with Kyle getting the second spot with nine laps to go.
Tim Batty now ran third ahead of Stevanous, with Stevanous challenging him for the spot on Lap 22. He was unable to clear him, though falling back in line five laps later. He would challenge once again on the last lap, but was unable to follow through.
Tim Norris picked up the victory ahead of Kyle Batty, Tim Batty, Bryan Stevanous, Mike Johnson, Peter Hattin and Rick Sealy.
