Cameron McGlashan Looking To Go Back-To-Back at Sunset Speedway

After a dominating performance last weekend at Sunset Speedway, Cameron McGlashan will enter Saturday night looking for his second straight feature victory.

Last weekend, McGlashan was fast from drop of the first green flag, placing second in his first heat, followed by a third in the second qualifier.

Come feature time, he would start fifth and wasted no time getting to the front, taking the lead on Lap 4. From there on, he was able to negotiate the lap traffic with ease, while maintaining a solid gap ahead of the field en route to scoring his second feature of 2017.

“It feels like a million bucks,” McGlashan said. “We put a different transmission in it last week, and it’s been shaking a lot all day, cockpit was full of smoke there at the end – but I didn’t care. As long as there was no caution, we were going to get it. So it feels great – feels even more important than the other ones because Mike, Jamie, my dad, everybody has been busting their hump on this one. We got through traffic and it went green to green, and we got the victory, so can’t complain about that.”

McGlashan Motorsports are set to compete at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, August 26 as part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition.

“It’s huge,” he says concerning confidence from the win. “Ever since I won the last one, it seemed like a bit of a nightmare. We blew a transmission at Sauble, carb here before that – it’s just been one thing after the other, it seems like since then. So to be able come out here and get a victory, it’s huge for everybody that has helped me. We might not have been the fastest car because Nic (Montanari) was coming on strong there, but you know what – sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good, so we’ll take it anyway that we can get it.”

Cameron McGlashan and McGlashan Motorsports are proud to be supported by England Enterprises, ORVAuto, Polished Automotive, Arbor Aces Tree Care Inc, M&S Metals, Orillia Metal Fabrication, Darrell Eacott’s Custom Diecast with Tammikinz Phileac, and MAK Mechanical.
