Running up front all feature long paid off for Darren Dryden en route to scoring his first Lucas Oil T.Q. Can-Am Midget feature victory of the 2017 campaign.
Josh Shantz grabbed the early lead off the green flag ahead of Darren Dryden and Ryan Fraser. Adam Racine then got alongside Fraser for third on Lap 2, completing the pass a lap later and bringing Adrian Stahle through with him on Lap 4. Cory Whittam would then pass Fraser for fifth on Lap 6, as Dominique Smith ran seventh ahead of Barry Dunn, Brandon Zavarella, Steve Murdoch, and Luc Munsie.
Zavarella would then get by Dunn for eighth on Lap 11, bringing Murdoch through with him for ninth. Fraser then got back alongside Whittam for fifth at Lap 15, completing the pass a lap later. Murdoch moved up to eighth ahead of Zavarella, Dunn, Smith and Munsie. Munsie then made his way by Smith with three laps to go.
Josh Shantz led the entire 20 laps to cross the finish line first, but was disqualified post-race for being underweight. Darren Dryden was credited with the victory ahead of Adam Racine, Adrian Stahle, Ryan Fraser, Cory Whittam, Steve Murdoch, Brandon Zavarella, Barry Dunn, Luc Munsie, and Dominique Smith.
