Battling hard throughout the pair of 35-lap features, Jordan Latimer posted a pair of top-10’s on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
The first feature saw Latimer start upfront, running sixth as of the first caution on Lap 6. He then avoided an incident between the pair of leaders at Lap 10 to move up to the fourth position. Restarting inside the top-five with 26 laps to go, he battled side-by-side with Thayne Hallyburton for third, eventually falling in line in fourth at Lap 15 before the caution flew once again two laps later.
Restarting halfway through the field, he ran fourth till the third caution flew on Lap 18 for a quick spin deep in the field. Another restart, and Latimer kept himself up front, battling side-by-side with Thayne Hallyburton for third. The battle did not go his way, as he eventually fell back to sixth with eight laps to go. Unable to make up any ground through the final laps, he scored a sixth-place finish.
Starting 10th in the second 35-lap feature, he dropped back to the 12th position in the early laps, though made his way back up to 11th by Lap 23. In the final stages, he was able to make one more pass, crossing the finish line in the 10th position.
Jordan Latimer will return to Sunset Speedway on July 22 in hopes of scoring his 10th top-10 of the season.
