Eric Yorke Scores Third Feature Victory of Season at Sunset Speedway

The victories continue to come for Eric Yorke, as he scored his third feature victory of the 2017 season at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night.

The first heat did not start off cleanly, with Robert Toope getting loose, getting into Lisa DeLeeuw and causing both drivers to go around. Charlie Smith picked up the victory ahead of Johnny Paradzinski, Stefan Woyslaw, DeLeeuw, Amanda Shave, Chandler Bos, Toope, Curtis Stewart, and Wendy Adams.

Daniel Montanari won the second heat ahead of Eric Yorke, Cameron McGlashan, Mike Robinson Jr., Doug Butler, Dave Crumbie, Thomas Dunn, Melissa Bullen, and Eric Rainey.

Nic Montanari won the third heat ahead of Josh Bullen, Samantha Shaw, Randi Seguin, Dylan Holmes, Bob Phinnemore, Joe Dunlop, Peter Wakeling, and Tyler Seaboyer.

The fourth heat didn’t start off cleanly, with Toope spinning Wakeling on the opening lap. Charlie Smith went for the daily double ahead of Paradzinski, Woyslaw, DeLeeuw, Bos, Toope, Shave, Adams, Trevor Hemingway, and Stewart.

Mike Robinson Jr. won the fifth heat ahead of Yorke, McGlashan, Daniel Montanari, Butler, Crumbie, Melissa Bullen, Rainey, Dunn and Doug Wilman.

Nic Montanari went for the daily double ahead of Shaw, Phinnemore, Seguin, Josh Bullen, Holmes, Dunlop, Wakeling, and Seaboyer.

Come feature time, it’d be Johnny Paradzinski starting pole ahead of Dave Crumbie, Amanda Shave, Chandler Bos, and Dylan Holmes. Samantha Shaw started sixth, followed by Lisa DeLeeuw, Randi Seguin, Bob Phinnemore, and Josh Bullen. Stefan Woyslaw started 11th, followed by Nic Montanari, Cameron McGlashan, Doug Butler and Mike Robinson Jr.

Charlie Smith started 16th, followed by Daniel Montanari, Eric Yorke, Joe Dunlop and Robert Toope. Peter Wakeling started 21st, followed by Melissa Bullen, Eric Rainey, Wendy Adams, Curtis Stewart, Trevor Hemingway, Doug Wilman, and Tyler Seaboyer.

Off the drop of the green flag, Johnny Paradzinski grabbed the early lead ahead of Crumbie, Seguin and Josh Bullen. However, the caution would fly on Lap 2 as a result of Stewart and Wakeling going around in turn two, with DeLeeuw involved.

With 23 laps to go, Paradzinski led Crumbie, Shaw, Seguin, Bullen, Nic Montanari, Bos, Butler, Yorke and Shave. McGlashan ran 11th ahead of Phinnemore, Smith, Woyslaw, Daniel Montanari, Robinson Jr., Toope, Bullen, Dunlop and Adams. Rainey 21st ahead of Wilman and Hemingway.

Paradzinski got a good restart to keep the lead, with Shaw grabbing second ahead of Crumbie, before the second caution flew for Bos spinning in turn two, courtesy of Woyslaw, with Daniel Montanari catching a piece of the wreck.

The restart brought forth a battle for the lead between Paradzinski and Shaw, with Shaw getting the top spot on Lap 5. However, the caution flew a lap later for Hemingway stopping in turn two. With 20 laps to go, Shaw led Paradzinski, Nic Montanari, Yorke, Smith, Seguin, Robinson Jr., Crumbie, Butler and Josh Bullen. McGlashan ran 11th ahead of Melissa Bullen, Phinnemore, Rainey, Holmes, Shave, Toope, Dunlop, DeLeeuw, and Adams. Woyslaw ran 21st, followed by Wilman, Stewart, Daniel Montanari, Wakeling, and Seaboyer.

Shaw got a good restart to keep the lead, with Yorke making the move up to second ahead of Paradzinski. Yorke then got alongside Shaw for the lead, taking the top spot on Lap 8. Shaw now ran second ahead of Nic Montanari, Smith, Paradzinski and Robinson Jr., with McGlashan and Butler side-by-side for seventh. Mntanari then got alongside Shaw for second, taking the spot on Lap 12 and bringing Smith through with him.

Shaw now ran fourth ahead of Paradzinski, Robinson Jr., McGlashan and Butler. Robinson Jr. then got alongside Paradzinski for fifth at Lap 15, unable to complete the pass before experiencing problems. Instead, it’d be McGlashan passing Paradzinski for fifth at Lap 17, with Robinson Jr. heading down pit road a lap later. Butler then got alongside Paradzinski for sixth ahead of Josh Bullen and Seguin, with Daniel Montanari alongside Woyslaw for 10th.

At the front of the field, Eric Yorke led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Nic Montanari, Charlie Smith, Cameron McGlashan and Samantha Shaw. Doug Butler was sixth, followed by Johnny Paradzinski, Daniel Montanari, Josh Bullen and Stefan Woyslaw. Randi Seguin was 11th, followed by Dave Crumbie, Melissa Bullen, Eric Rainey, Bob Phinnemore, Dylan Holmes, Robert Toope and Lisa DeLeeuw.
