Duane Cinnamon Scores Ontario Modified Racing Series Victory

Taking the lead in the early stages, Duane Cinnamon led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory in the Ontario Modified Racing Series feature at Spring Velocity.

Debuting a brand new car, Brad Stevenson won the first heat ahead of Cinnamon, Chris Burrows, Connor James, Randy Hollingsworth, and Rick Warnes. Robert Warnes started the heat, but pulled before completion.

Cinnamon won the second heat ahead of Stevenson, Burrows, James, Hollingsworth, an unmarked purple car, Rick Warnes, Robert Warnes and Willow Barberstock.

Come feature time, it’d be Robert Warnes starting pole ahead of Randy Hollingsworth, Connor James, Chris Burrows, Duane Cinnamon, Brad Stevenson and Rick Warnes. The unmarked purple car was scheduled to start tail of field, but headed into the infield during pace laps.

Off the drop of the green flag, Robert Warnes took the lead, with James and Hollingsworth side-by-side for second. Cinnamon would slip by them both on Lap 2, before taking the top spot a lap later.

At Lap 3, it was Cinnamon leading ahead of Robert Warnes, James, Hollingsworth and Stevenson. Stevenson then got alongside Hollingsworth for fourth at Lap 5, with James getting alongside Warnes for second a lap later. Stevenson was able to get fourth on Lap 7, bringing Burrows through with him a lap later ahead of Hollingsworth and Rick Warnes.

James got the runner-up spot on Lap 9, with Stevenson following through a lap later for third ahead of Robert Warnes. Burrows ran fourth ahead of Hollingsworth and Rick Warnes to round out the field. Stevenson continued his climb forward, passing James for second at Lap 11, with the caution flying a lap later for Robert Warnes spinning in turn two.

Cinnamon got a good restart to keep the lead with Stevenson moving into second ahead of Burrows, James, Hollingsworth, Robert Warnes and Rick Warnes. Unfortunately, Stevenson’s strong run came to an end at Lap 15 with a mechanical problem.

Duane Cinnamon led the rest of the way to score the win ahead of Chris Burrows, Connor James, Randy Hollingsworth, Robert Warnes and Rick Warnes.
