Another series schedule has been released, as the Lucas Oil T.Q. Can-Am Midgets released their schedule on Wednesday, to go along with the debut of their new series website.
Following a practice day on April 30 at Sunset Speedway, the series will kick off their action-packed season at Flamboro Speedway on May 13. They will then race a week later at Sunset Speedway, as part of the Innisfil, Ontario’s action-packed Spring Velocity event which features all of the track’s regular divisions, as well as other traveling series.
Kicking off the month of June, the midgets will head across the board to the Lancaster National Speedway in New York to race alongside the ISMA Super Modifieds. They will then return to Canadian soil, racing at Flamboro (June 17) and Peterborough Speedway (June 24) to cap off the month.
With Canada set to turn 150 years old this year, the midgets will mark the occasion by racing on Canada Day – July 1 – at Sauble Speedway. The month of July is action-packed, as they will also race on July 2 at Full Throttle Motor Speedway. Following another trip to Sunset Speedway on July 8, the series will make their first trip of the year to Grand Bend Speedway on July 15 to take part in the “Bash at the Beach”. They will then cap off the month with a third trip to Flamboro Speedway.
The action doesn’t slow down in August, as they will race on August 5 and August 6 at Sauble Speedway, before heading to Flamboro on August 19 and August 26. They will then return to Sauble once again on September 2, before a second race at Full Throttle on September 3.
The 2017 Champion will then be crowned at Sunset Speedway, as part of the track’s Velocity 250 weekend.
This past season, the series saw Mack DeMan pick up his fourth championship, 43 points over Darren McLennan.
