Chris Allard Scores Second Victory of Season at Sunset Speedway

For the second time in his rookie season at Sunset Speedway, Chris Allard visited victory lane as he held off Treyten Lapcevich in the late stages to win the Signs of Innovations Mighty Mini feature.

Treyten Lapcevich started off the night in victory lane by winning the first heat ahead of Cameron McGlashan, Nick St. Onge, Allard, Randi Seguin, Brandon Passer, Stefan Woyslaw, Thomas Dunn and Eric Rainey.

The second heat didn’t go smoothly as Dylan Holmes would go for two separate spins as he got used to his new car. Stefan Semeraro picked up the win ahead of Mike Robinson Jr., Robert Toope, Josh Inglis, Lisa DeLeeuw, Wendy Adams and Scott Brooks.

The b-main didn’t go smoothly with three separate drivers spinning on the opening lap. Holmes would spin in turn one, followed by Dunn and Peter Wakeling on the frontstretch. Holmes would go for a second spin on the third lap. Stefan Woyslaw picked up the win ahead of Dunn, Rainey, Adams, Brooks, Holmes and Wakeling.

The fast qualifier’s dash went a little smoother with only one spin as St. Onge got loose off of turn two and spun on the backstretch at lap three. Treyten Lapcevich would edge McGlashan for the victory at the line ahead of Robinson Jr., Semeraro, St. Onge, Seguin, Allard, Toope, Passer, Wilman, Inglis and DeLeeuw.

Come feature time, Chris Allard would break out to the early lead behind the wheel of the No. 76 Gravel Ridge Engraving, Absolute Automotive Specialties, Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC, and Morley Photography entry into the lead ahead of Mike Robinson Jr. as Robert Toope, Brandon Passer and Treyten Lapcevich went three-wide for third on lap two. Lapcevich would get the spot, with Passer moving into fourth ahead of Toope and Cameron McGlashan.

Just outside of the top-five, Eric Rainey, Nick St. Onge and Thomas Dunn would run three-wide for seventh. McGlashan would pass Toope to move into sixth as St. Onge moved into seventh ahead of Rainey and Stefan Semeraro. St. Onge would then pass Toope to move into sixth, with Semeraro looking to follow suit as Seguin and Woyslaw battled for ninth.

At the front of the field, Allard would continue to lead as Lapcevich made his way by Robinson Jr. to move into second just past the halfway mark. Passer continued to run fourth ahead of McGlashan and St. Onge as Semeraro moved into seventh ahead of Toope, Seguin and Woyslaw. McGlashan would then get alongside Passer for fourth with seven laps to go, completing the pass a lap later.

At the front of the field, Lapcevich would track down Allard for the lead and looked to make the pass, however had to fall back in line as a result of the lap-car.

Chris Allard was then able to hold on the rest of the way to score the victory ahead of Treyten Lapcevich, Mike Robinson Jr., Cameron McGlashan, Brandon Passer, Nick St. Onge, Stefan Semeraro, Robert Toope, Randi Seguin, Stefan Woyslaw, Thomas Dunn, Eric Rainey, Josh Inglis, Wendy Adams, Lisa DeLeeuw and Doug Wilman.
