LONDON, Ontario — Despite being heavily challenged through the 40-lap feature at Delaware Speedway, Jamie Cox held off the field to return to Overkill Enterprise OSCAAR Modified victory lane on Friday night.

Cox showed speed in qualifying by picking up a heat win, which translated into having the front row for the feature. He took advantage of the track position to find his way into the top spot on Lap 1, ready to run away from the field. Although he had some breathing room early, it was not long before the competition was right on his back bumper. There were a couple laps it looked as though he would be passed on the inside, but it did not happen as Cox found a way to hold onto the top spot. He led all 40 laps en route to visiting Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd victory lane.

Dale Reinhart may have come up short in his bid for the victory by 0.081 seconds, but the runner-up allowed him to extend his points lead atop the standings. Marshall Schrenk showed speed in his return to the tour with a third, ahead of Bryan Batty and Jason Keen.

Rookie Rick Burbridge continued his consistent campaign with a sixth in front of Steve Trendell, Ryan Dick, Matt Haufe, and Amanda Balson. Wally Wilson, Dylan Penney and Eric McLean completed the field.

Heat victories went to Jamie Cox and Dale Reinhart.

The Overkill Enterprise OSCAAR Modifieds are back on-track at Flamboro Speedway with the Brian McLean Memorial as part of Frostoberfest weekend on Saturday, October 3. They will be joined by the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Super Late Models presented by Just Foam It, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop OSCAAR Hot Rods presented by Bromley Automotive.
