DURHAM, Ontario — There’s beauty and challenge when it comes to the Overkill Enterprise OSCAAR Modified schedule, as we watched the open-wheel stars go from the beach, to the biggest track on the tour to a place known as the toughest 1/3-mile in the province.
Now they will tackle the smallest track on the tour as the modifieds head to the quarter-mile bullring known as Full Throttle Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 22.
Here are some of the drivers to watch this weekend.
Matt Haufe may be a rookie on the tour, but he is proving to fit right in with the crowd already. He has scored no finishes worse than seventh in his first trio of tour appearances, including picking up the checkered flag at Peterborough Speedway.
Third generation racer Eric McLean made his modified debut at Sauble, and has been solid to kick off 2026 with a trio of eighth-place finishes. He knows his way around FTMS as evident by racing a bone stock there previously.
Daryl Henwood has been running a second entry for Trendell Racing, and has been solid with a ninth at Sauble and a sixth at Delaware.
Jason Keen was able to rebound from his struggles to kick off the year at Sauble as evident with a fourth and a sixth at Peterborough. He has not had the best of luck at Full Throttle in the past, with a track-best seventh in 2024 following a late-race spin.
Bryan Batty hopes to find the same success which led him to 20 top-10 finishes in 33 previous appearances. He has two top-fives this year including a runner-up at Sauble, and placed seventh at FTMS in 2023 with a heat win.
2025 OSCAAR Modified Series Champion Steve Trendell has been fast the past two years at Full Throttle, as evident by finishes of second and fourth. He will hope to find his way to Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales victory lane for the second time in his first career, after having scored no finishes outside the top-five in his last 11 series appearances, including a fourth at Peterborough.
Brent McLean is no stranger to OSCAAR victory lane, as evident by having won five times throughout his career. In total, he has scored 45 top-10’s in 58 series appearances, including a pair of 10ths this year. He is also one of three drivers to have visited victory lane twice at Full Throttle.
Dale Reinhart comes into the event as one of the drivers to beat, based on his recent trips to victory lane. He has kicked off the 2026 campaign by winning the first two events at Sauble and Delaware, and was the winner last season at Full Throttle in dominating fashion. Notably, he has not finished outside the top-five in his last 10 series appearances.
Wally Wilson will be looking to back-up his third-place finish from Peterborough Speedway. He has placed sixth and ninth in his previous trips to Full Throttle.
Rick Burbridge may be a rookie, but he comes into the weekend tied for the points lead with Dale Reinhart following no finishes outside of the top-five through three races, including a runner-up at Peterborough Speedway.
Don’t miss the action at Full Throttle Motor Speedway this weekend as it will include The Fyre Place & Patio Shop OSCAAR Hot Rods presented by Bromley Automotive.
