Treyten Lapcevich Victorious in Gold Rush 126 at Flamboro Speedway

MILLGROVE, Ontario — Despite losing power steering around Lap 60, Treyten Lapcevich muscled his way through the second half of the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Super Late Models presented by Just Foam It Gold Rush 126 to pick up the checkered flag at Flamboro Speedway.

Lapcevich took The Car Guy green flag from the second row, keeping himself as part of the battle at the front of the field all night long. He escaped an incident ahead of him on the Lap 58 restart following the fuel break, and used the following restart to take the lead from Dustin Jackson. From there on, the driver of the No. 16 dominated in pacing the rest of the way en route to visiting Hoosier Racing Tire / Bicknell Race Products victory lane.

Jake Sheridan was the Shepherd Media Fastest Qualifier Award winner for the event, and looked to be in dominating form at the start of the event. However, contact with Glenn Styres on the previously mentioned restart would send him pit side to the attention of his pit crew. The driver of the No. 52 wasted no time in charging back to the front, taking over second on Lap 90, however was unable to mount a challenge to Lapcevich late in the event.

Andrew Gresel’s return to the driver’s seat saw him put together a smooth night en route to third to complete the podium ahead of Dustin Jackson and Glenn Styres. Trevor Monaghan overcame a couple incidents for sixth, with Blake Childers placing seventh following contact with the outside turn three wall while battling for a podium position. John Owen was eighth in front of Ryan Dick, and TJ Edwards. Edwards’ night ended on Lap 58 after contact with Monaghan and the outside turn one wall.

Brandon Passer was 11th, followed by Jaden Cretacci, Scottie Lamp, Dwayne Baker, Dario Capirchio, John Baker Jr., Glenn Watson, brad Pearsall, and Todd Campbell. Unfortunately, several drivers saw their race events end early as a result of mechanical issues.

Adrian Foster was also in attendance, but blew a motor in qualifying, while Mike Miller suffered a mechanical failure in practice.

The JRS Auctions OSCAAR Super Late Models presented by Just Foam It are back on-track at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday, July 11.
