PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Fending off the field on a late-race restart, Kenny McNicol Jr. secured his first career JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rod feature victory on Saturday at Peterborough Speedway.
McNicol Jr ran up front throughout the feature, keeping himself within the top-two positions from the drop of the green flag. The tides swinged in his favor when he took over the lead with three laps to go, holding off Dan Archibald on a final restart to reach McColl Racing Enterprises victory lane.
Rob Bromley held on despite crossing the finish line coming to the restart sideways for a third, with his teammate Jamie Cairns in fourth. Tyler Hawn led the middle portion of the event, but a flat tire forced him down pit road in the final laps. He rebounded to complete the top-five.
Bob Cousineau was sixth in his first OSCAAR start of 2024, ahead of Dalen Martin, Steve Book, Luke Gignac, and Connor Ellis.
Steve McCaw, Hailey McNicol, and Ryan Cowan each saw their features end early due to issues.
Bromley Automotive heat wins went to Dan Archibald, Dalen Martin, Rob Bromley, and Bob Cousineau.
Tyler Hawn currently leads Rob Bromley by 12 points in the series standings.
The JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rods are back in action at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, August 17.
