PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Following a pair of great battles at the front of the field, it’d be Cole McFadden and Adam Cuthbertson winning the pair of Canadian Legend Car Series features as part of the Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway.
When it came to Saturday’s feature, Josh Inglis started pole in front of Cole McFadden, Zach Latimer, Jordan Latimer, Nick Portt, Hudson Nagy, Steve Garneau, Wesley Cuthbertson, Glenn Morris, Adam Cuthbertson, Caleb Drimmie, Kenny McNicol, Nate Spinks, Dawson Drimmie, Jeff McKibbon, Joe Adams, Sean Walker, Paul Perik, and the 59.
The race started off with a bang as Portt did a complete 360 spin and kept going, while Cole McFadden grabbed the lead in front of Inglis and Nagy. The race was slowed on the second lap, courtesy of a spin by Wesley Cuthberston in turn two. Zach Latimer would head down pit road under the caution.
Cole McFadden got a good restart with Jordan Latimer up to second in front of Nagy and Dawson Drimmie, as Adams and Inglis battled for fifth, with Adam Cuthbertson and Portt side-by-side for seventh. Cuthbertson got the spot on Lap 5, as Garneau ran ninth in front of Wesley Cuthbertson and Spinks.
The race had a smooth appearance until Lap 11 when the second caution came out for Caleb Drimmie going around in turn two. Adam Cuthbertson used the restart to move up to fourth in front of Dawson Drimmie and Adams, before the third yellow flag waved on Lap 12 for Inglis spinning Portt in turn two. Portt wasted no time making up lost ground, running fifth under the fourth caution at Lap 21 for Caleb Drimmie spinning Morris on the backstretch.
Cole McFadden got a good restart to pace the field the rest of the way en route in front of Adam Cuthbertson and Hudson Nagy.
Come Sunday’s feature, Hudson Nagy grabbed the early advantage in front of Jordan Latimer, Dawson Drimmie, Cole McFadden, Adam Cuthbertson, Wesley Cuthbertson, Joe Adams, Nick Portt, Josh Inglis, Steve Garneau, Paul Perik, Zach Latimer, Nate Spinks, Kenny McNicol, and Glenn Morris. The first caution came out on Lap 5 for Caleb Drimmie going around in turns one and two. The restart would see a multi-car crash involving Nagy, Adam Cuthbertson, Perik, Morris, initially triggered by Jordan Latimer spinning Nagy in turns three and four.
Dawson Drimmie assumed the lead in front of McFadden and Adam Cuthbertson. McFadden took over the top spot on Lap 7, with Cuthbertson up to second a lap later in front of Drimmie, Portt, Adams, Zach Latimer, and Garneau. Jordan Latimer got alongside Garneau for seventh, as Wesley Cuthbertson ran ninth.
Adam Cuthbertson got alongside McFadden for the top spot on Lap 11, completing the pass a lap later, as Drimmie ran third in front of Portt, Adams, Jordan Latimer, Zach Latimer, Wesley Cuthbertson, and Garneau. Jordan Latimer continued to regain ground, passing Adams for fifth on Lap 15, with Portt alongside Drimmie for third as they went around the lap car of Jeff McKibbon on Lap 17.
Drimmie held off the challenge, remaining third in front of Portt, Jordan Latimer and Adams, as Wesley Cuthbertson and Zach Latimer battled for seventh. Cuthbertson got the spot on Lap 21, as Garneau ran ninth in front of Morris, with Spinks by Walker for 11th with three laps to go.
Adam Cuthbertson led the rest of the way en route to winning in front of Cole McFadden, Dawson Drimmie, Nick Portt, and Jordan Latimer.
