INNISFIL, Ontario — Despite being his first career Qwick Wick Fire Starter OSCAAR Hot Rod appearance, Dwayne Baker proved why he is one of the best drivers in the province by being the top qualifier for their portion of Sunset Speedway’s Fall Velocity.
John Gaunt was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of Bill Zardo Sr., Paul Senior, Steve Book, Donny Beatty, Connor Ellis, and Matt Spry.
Dwayne Baker picked up the checkered flag in the third heat, followed by Tyler Hawn, Taylor Holdaway, Dustin Kellar, Gary Hannah, Chris Allard, and Sean Walker.
The fourth qualifer saw Walters and Alderson Jr. got together when Walters tried to make the pass underneath him on Lap 3. Dwayne Baker went for the daily double in front of Hawn, Walters, Holdaway, McLean, and Bill Clarke.
Bill Zardo Sr. was victorious in the fifth heat ahead of Book, Bromley, Gaunt, Beatty, Nick Clarke, Parsons, and Cowan.
The sixth qualifier saw a pair of cautions, courtesy of spins by both Spry and Kellar. Paul Senior picked up the checkered flag in front of Hannah, Kellar, Spry, Allard, and Walker.
The scheduled event is set for Delaware Speedway on Saturday, September 25.
