INNISFIL, Ontario — Making his way to the lead quickly, Brandon Steele dominated the Bone Stock feature at Sunset Speedway. Meanwhile, Jacob Booth picked up a heat victory en route to being crowned the 2022 Bone Stock Champion.
Brandon Steele won the first heat in front of Andrew Shilling, Jack Bird, Michael Robinson III, Austyn Jennett, Curtis Stewart, Shawn Stewart, and Karlie Wilman.
Calvin Reesor was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of Cash Ireton, Jacob Booth, Jordan Owen, Austyn Jennett, Nicholas Reece, Matt Christina, Kris Khan, and Steve Oakes. Notably, Khan went for a spin in turn three and four without a caution thrown.
Brandon Steele went for the daily double in front of Jennett, Robinson III, Josh Berry, Shilling, Wilman, and Stewart.
Jacob Booth won the fourth qualifier ahead of Reesor, Lusk, Reece, Christina, Ireton, Owen, Oakes, and Khan, as Khan went for another loop around, this time in turns one and two.
Come feature time, Austyn Jennett started pole in front of Nicholas Reece, Curtis Stewart, Jordan Owen, Aundrea Lusk, Andrew Shilling, Cash Ireton, Calvin Reesor, Brandon Steele, Jacob Booth, Josh Berry, Michael Robinson III, Karlie Wilman, Matt Christina, Steve Oakes, Shawn Stewart, and Kris Khan.
Stewart would not have the start he wanted, as he headed down pit road on the drop of the green flag, as Austyn Jennett grabbed the early advantage, with Shilling and Lusk side-by-side for second. Steele got the spot on Lap 3 with Owen looking to follow him through, but the caution came out for Reece’s bumper lying on the track courtesy of contact with Booth.
The restart saw Lusk and Steele take Jennett three-wide for the lead, with Brandon Steele coming out on top in front of Lusk and Jennett, with Berry and Owen side-by-side for fourth, as Booth and Reesor battled for sixth. Booth and Reesor took the pair ahead of them four-wide off of turn four, with Booth getting fourth ahead of Reesor and Owen.
Robinson III challenged Owen for sixth on Lap 8, as both Booth and Reesor made their way around Jennett. Jennett now ran fifth in front of Robinson III, Berry and Ireton, as Shilling battled Owen for ninth. Shilling got the spot, challenging Ireton for eighth on Lap 13. Further up the field, Reesor got alongside Booth for third, unable to complete the pass initially, though able to do it with just a couple laps left on the board.
Brandon Steele led the rest of the way en route to victory lane in front of Aundrea Lusk, Calvin Reesor, Jacob Booth, and Austyn Jennett.
With consistency through the season, Booth was awarded the 2022 Bone Stock Championship.
