Qwick Wick OSCAAR Hot Rod Flamboro Speedway Preview

MILLGROVE, Ontario — The Qwick Wick OSCAAR Hot Rod teams are set to put the disappointment of seeing weather foil their plans at the beach behind them, ready to travel to Flamboro Speedway on Saturday, August 27.

It will mark the ninth time the Hot Rods have raced at Flamboro Speedway, following their inaugural appearance in 2017. Thus far, we’ve seen six different winners, with Nick Clarke and Tyler Hawn the only of those able to repeat the feat twice. The other four victors are Adam Misener, Rodney Rutherford, Steve Book, and Dalen Martin.

Jeremy McLean hopes the speed shown with a top-10 in of his last 10 tour appearances carries into this weekend. In his most recent pair of events at Flamboro, he has a single top-10 with a ninth.

Steve Book heads into this weekend with a smile on his face following no finishes worse than sixth in 18 of his last 22 series starts, including four podiums in 2022. In five appearances at Flamboro Speedway, he has posted no finishes worse than fourth, highlighted by a victory in October 2019.

Paul Senior hopes to have a good outing as he enters on a string of positive finishes, with six straight top-10 finishes including a runner-up. He has shown speed at Flamboro Speedway, as evident by a pair of podiums in his last three appearances.

Gary Hannah hopes to turn things around after failing to start the feature at Brighton Speedway. He has not had the best of luck at Flamboro, with a 19th-place finish in his lone appearance.

Ryan Cowan looks to keep the improvement rolling, following a season-best seventh-place finish the past two races. He also has not had the best of luck of Flamboro, with a pair of results outside the top-15.

Nick Clarke hopes to keep the pretty in the blue mustang as he enters this weekend with momentum, rolling a top-10 in five of his last six tour appearances, including a trio of runner-ups. He has been fast at Flamboro Speedway, as evident by a top-five in his four most recent starts including a second.

The Clarke family team will also be fielding the No. 0 normally driven by Bill Clarke this weekend, but with a different driver behind the wheel.

Sean Walker hopes to continue getting stronger this season, following a pair of top-15’s including a season-best 11th at Peterborough Speedway. He has been consistent at Flamboro with a best finish of 12th in his last two appearances.

Dave Evison Sr. has been splitting his time between the series and battling at Delaware Speedway, but is hopeful of improving upon his 14th-place finish last season at Flamboro Speedway.

After missing a couple series events, Robertson and Co Racing will be apart of the field with two entries – Marty Monette and Jaeger McMaster. Both drivers have a ton of laps at Flamboro through home track competition, with McMaster coming close to winning Frostoberfest last October.

A series of drivers will be making their first tour appearances at Flamboro Speedway, ready to mix it up with the others.

Connor Ellis hopes to keep the momentum rolling after posting a top-15 in six of his last seven tour appearances, highlighted by his first career top-five with fifth at Brighton Speedway.

Tom Walters rolls into Flamboro Speedway with momentum on his side following a pair of back-to-back runner-up finishes.

Rob Bromley heads to Flamboro Speedway also with the big momentum, following a top-10 in seven of the eight races this season, including four top-five finishes.

Bill Zardo hopes to keep the season rolling, after scoring his first career series victory at Peterborough Speedway last month. Notably, he has scored a top-10 in four of the eight races this season to date.

Matt Spry will hope to continue to build his notebook with the series, following three top-15 finishes to kick off his OSCAAR career, including a career-best 10th at Brighton Speedway.

Ed Peterson is ready to get back on-track, after making significant repairs following a big crash at Sauble Speedway back in June.

Beyond the drivers mentioned here, there is the possibility to see other faces make an appearance this weekend at Flamboro Speedway.

OSCAAR is proud to be supported by Qwick Wick Fire Starters, Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park, JRS Auctions, Point S Tire and Auto Services, Knightworks Design, McColl Racing Enterprises, EPIC Racewear, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop.
