PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — The dominance and speed have remained there with Andy Kamrath despite a rough start to the month of July, as he was able to score the victory in the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It feature fueled by Touchwood Cabinets at Peterborough Speedway.
The first JRS Auctions Heats was won by Andy Kamrath in front of Tyler Liscum, Herb Walters, Jason Keen, Tommy Robb, and Bob Franks.
A.J. Emms was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of TJ Edwards, Luke Gignac, Dale Reinhart, and Wally Wilson. The race did start off on a rough note, with Max Beyore going around in turns three and four.
A.J. Emms went for the daily double in the third heat in front of Reinhart, Gignac, Walters, Franks, and Liscum.
Kamrath went for the daily double in the fourth qualifier ahead of Edwards, Keen, Wilson, Robb, and Beyore.
Come feature time, Luke Gignac started pole in front of Tyler Liscum, Jason Keen, Herb Walters, Dale Reinhart, A.J. Emms, TJ Edwards, Andy Kamrath, Wally Wilson, Tommy Robb, Bob Franks, and Max Beyore.
Luke Gignac grabbed the early advantage with Keen slotting into second, as Reinhart battled Liscum for third. Reinhart got the spot on Lap 2, bringing Edwards, Kamrath, and Emms through with him. Liscum now ran seventh in front of Wilson and Robb, as Beyore made his way down pit road. Kamrath would get alongside Edwards for fourth on Lap 5, completing the pass a lap later, followed by a pass on Reinhart for third.
With eight laps on the board, Gignac continued to lead in front of Kamrath, as Edwards battled Keen for third. Edwards got by a lap later, bringing Emms and Reinhart through with him. Andy Kamrath would make his move for the lead on Lap 11 to take the top spot, but the caution came out at the same time for Robb having an issue on the backstretch.
Andy Kamrath got a good restart to grab the advantage ahead of Gignac, Edwards, Emms, Reinhart, Keen, and Liscum. Edwards would then make his way by Gignac for second on Lap 16, bringing Emms through with him.
The field would string out over the second half of the event, with Andy Kamrath leading the rest of the way for the victory in front of TJ Edwards, A.J. Emms, Luke Gignac, and Dale Reinhart.
The Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds are back in action at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, August 21.
