Wally Wilson Shows Speed in Qualifying, Scores Top-15 at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — The steps towards success are continuing to be made by Wally Wilson Racing, as evident by a couple highlights on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Wilson showed speed during qualifying, turning a solid starting spot in his first heat into a fifth-place result. The second qualifier did not go as planned, as starting at the back would see Wilson fail to move forward en route to eighth.

Starting 12th for the 40-lap feature, he would look to try and move forward in the early stages. Unfortunately, he was unable to make up much ground, and a lack of cautions would see the field strung out all the way around the 1/3-mile oval.

Despite pushing each lap, Wilson ultimately scored a 14th-place finish.

Notably, though, Wilson has scored two top-10’s in his last four races, following a ninth in OSCAAR Modified competition at Delaware Speedway, and ninth with the Legend at Sauble Speedway.

He will return behind the wheel of his modified on Saturday, July 30 at Peterborough Speedway.

Wally Wilson Racing is proud to be supported by The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, HAVE1.COM, Mister transmission Owen Sound, Napoleon, and RPM Racewear in 2022.
