INNISFIL, Ontario — The consistency continues to be there for Jake Watson, as he picked up his sixth consecutive top-10 finish this past Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Watson was fast throughout qualifying, kicking off the evening with a fourth in his first qualifier. He then ran up front all 10 laps of the second heat en route to a runner-up finish.
Starting third for the 40-lap feature, he would drop back to sixth in the early stages, running fifth with five laps on the board. He was able to maintain his track position to remain sixth through the first half of the event, though unfortunately faded a couple spots as the race drew on, crossing the finish line with an eighth-place finish.
It marks his sixth straight top-10 finish, placing him fourth in the series standings. He also currently leads the Rookie of the Year standings.
