Jake Spencer-Walt Picks Up Pair of Checkered Flags, Top-Five at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Battling for the top spot throughout the night at Sunset Speedway, Jake Spencer-Walt came away with a pair of checkered flags.

Starting last for the first 10-lap heat, he would make his way forward throughout the event, taking over the top spot and cruising en route to his first career checkered flag. The speed carried over to the second qualifier, as he started pole and led all 10 laps en route to another victory.

Starting on pole for the feature, he fell back to second early stages, followed by a quick spin. He would work his way back up from the last on the field, ready to challenge for the victory, though unfortunately ran into mechanical issues that halted the run. He was scored in fourth when the race was called on Lap 14.

It marks his third top-five of 2022 following a fifth and third to start the season off.
