LONDON, Ontario — After three great features to start the year, the stars of the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam it are ready for the next event on the calendar, set to take place at Delaware Speedway.
The half-mile track will play host to the OSCAAR Nationals weekend, which will feature its own unique qualifying and feature on each separate race day, Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2.
As we glance through the field, there are several drivers to keep an eye on.
Kelly Balson has been consistent, as evident by 11 top-five’s and 19 top-10’s in his last 24 series appearances. It’s a trend he hopes to continue at Delaware Speedway following a ninth in 2021.
TJ Edwards has certainly proven you cannot count him, as the defending series champion currently sits inside the top-five in the standings. He will make his second tour appearance at Delaware speedway following a runner-up last season. Notably, he has scored a top-five in his last eight series appearances.
A.J. Emms enters this weekend looking to keep the momentum rolling following back-to-back runner-ups. Consistency has been the name of the game for the driver of the No. 14 Modified, as evident by only nine finishes outside of the top-eight in his past 45 series starts. When it comes to Delaware Speedway, he has scored six top-five’s in eight appearances, including a victory in July 2019.
It’s been a tale of two tapes for Andy Kamrath over the past couple seasons, as he’s either sitting in victory lane, or watching the checkered flag from the sidelines due to a mechanical issue. Fortunately, those races he has missed are few and far between, with having won eight of the last 10 features, including last September at Delaware.
Jason Keen knows how to run well at Delaware Speedway, scoring a top-10 in each of his last three appearances, including a runner-up. He also currently has scored a top-10 in 12 of his last 14 tour appearances.
Norman Newman will be looking for a solid run after scoring a fourth in his first series appearance of 2022 at Sauble Speedway. He has scored a top-10 in two of his last three appearances at Delaware, including a fifth.
Dale Reinhart enters this weekend hoping to keep the momentum rolling following a back-to-back top-five’s, marking 16 top-10’s in his last 19 series starts. Although he was out of the event early due to a wreck, he knows how to win at Delaware Speedway in having scored a victory in 2019.
Wally Wilson hopes to be in the thick of the action this weekend, hopeful for his first top-10 finish of the season. He scored a 17th-place finish last season at Delaware.
Marshall Schrenk enters this weekend with momentum following back-to-back top-10 finishes. He has a bunch of laps at the half-mile, having battled there behind the wheel of a late model. Unfortunately, he saw his race end early last season with a 20th-place finish.
Tommy Robb enters this weekend with momentum, following a pair of top-10’s to kick off the 2022 campaign. He picked up a 16th-place finish last year at Delaware.
Ryan Dick put together a solid performance at Sunset Speedway, scoring a heat victory along with a seventh. He hopes to carry the momentum into the weekend following an eighth at the half-mile last year.
Herb Walters hopes to turn things around this weekend, after back-to-back appearances outside of the top-10. He notably scored a fourth in the season-opener at Sunset Speedway.
Jake Watson enters this weekend with momentum, following three straight top-10’s and a heat victory to kick off 2022.
Tyler Liscum hopes to score his first top-10 of 2022 this weekend, after picking up a season-best 12th at Sunset Speedway.
Bryan Batty may only be running a partial schedule, but you cannot take your eyes off the No. 39 following a fifth at Sauble Speedway. Notably, he picked up a seventh at Delaware in 2021.
These drivers, as well as others, are certainly looking forward to making the trip to Delaware Speedway.
