A.J. Emms Ready for OSCAAR Nationals at Delaware Speedway

LONDON, Ontario — Following back-to-back runner-ups, A.J. Emms carries momentum into this weekend’s OSCAAR Nationals at Delaware Speedway.

“Delaware is a strong track for us,” he commented. “We’ve had a lot of success there in the past. With the repave, we’re looking forward to getting there and seeing how the car works.”

Emms knows his way around the half-mile, as evident by a victory and pair of third-place finishes across three appearances. Though notably, the track surface is different than previous seasons as a result of an off-season partial repave.

“Delaware is definitely one of those places that I really enjoy to race at,” he said. “It’s definitely going to have a bit of different character with this repave, so that may be a factor with this next weekend. It definitely helps to add confidence, but it’s still a bit of crapshoot.”

The weekend also presents another unique challenge, with the schedule featuring a pair of separate race days on a single outing. Both Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 will feature their own qualifying and 30-lap feature.

Knowing what’s ahead, he emphasized the importance of making “sure again we go over the car this week in the shop,” while crossing their Ts and dotting their Is for this coming weekend.

“Overall, it’s going to be a bit of a crap shoot and just make sure our mechanical things are in order to be there at the end,” he added.

As previously mentioned, the momentum is on the team’s side as evident by a pair of runner-ups, placing Emms second in the series points standings.

Emms Racing is proud to be supported by BAE Environmental, Bromley Automotive, TL Tire, FMR Scrap Buyers & Recyclers, Speedy Glass Orillia, Klotz Canada, Creecher’s Designs, TSS Top Shops, Peter Built Racecars, and Short Track Musings for the 2022 campaign.
