Jessica James Makes it Three in a Row at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Jessica James is proving to be the early favourite for the championship after scoring her third straight Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil victory on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Larry Lawson won the first heat followed by Jamie Kay, Mike Bradley, Mikey Homewood, Zach Millman, and Dave Bradley, while Dave Inglis failed to finish.

Jessica James was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of Dan Bound, Rob McCall, Rob Harrison, Kevin Spiez, Dan Kviring, and Kayla Semple.

Mike Bradley won the third heat followed by Dave Bradley, Larry Lawson, Jamie Kay, and Mikey Homewood, while Dave Inglis failed to finish. Notably, Zach Millman did not take the green flag.

Jessica James went for the daily double ahead of Dan Bound, Kevin Spiez, Rob Harrison, Dan Kviring, Kayla Semple, and Rob McCall.

Coming from the back of the field after the incident proved to be no challenge for Jessica James, as she took the top spot on Lap 6 and did not look back en route to scoring the victory. Dan Bound placed second for a career-best performance in front of Mike Bradley, Rob McCall, and Dave Bradley.

Rob Harrison posted a second-consecutive sixth-place finish ahead of Mikey Homewood, Dave Inglis, and Kayla Semple. Larry Lawson failed to finish, wounding up 10^th, following a motor blow-up.

The feature started off on a messy wreck in turns one and two, with a four cars involved resulting in them being done for the night. Those drivers were Kevin Spiez, Jamie Kay, Dan Kviring, and Zach Millman.

The Outlaw Midgets are back in action on Canada Day weekend on July 1 and July 2 at Sauble Speedway.
