Outlaw Midgets Sunset Speedway Preview

INNISFIL, Ontario — After a couple successful events to start the 2022 campaign, the Outlaw Midgets are back in action this weekend on Saturday, June 18 at Sunset Speedway.

Mike Bradley will enter this weekend ranked fourth in the standings, following a fifth and a ninth to start the season. As a whole, the success is no surprise with having scored 13 top-five’s in the past 17 races. There’s no reason he cannot carry the success into this weekend, having scored five podiums in the last nine Sunset Speedway appearances.

Larry Lawson, meanwhile, has scored a pair of runner-ups, giving him five finishes no worse than fourth in the last seven series events. He enters this weekend as the points leader, 13 markers ahead of Rob McCall. He hopes to find the same success which has led him to a pair of podiums in the last four Sunset races.

Rob Harrison may be a dark horse to watch, as it seems he gets faster with each bit of experience he gains behind the wheel. It shined through with a sixth at Peterborough Speedway, to go along with a career-best eighth at Sunset last summer.

Jamie Kay is off to a solid start this season, with a sixth at Sunset, and a fourth at Peterborough. Notably, he scored a fifth at Fall Velocity last season.

Zach Millman knows how to get the job done at Sunset Speedway, scoring a track-best seventh last season. He started his season off at Peterborough with a 14th.

Kevin Spiez hopes to keep the momentum rolling following a pair of top-10’s to start the season. Notably, he has scored a top-10 in his past three Sunset Speedway appearances, including a fourth at Fall Velocity.

Rob McCall has been fast to start the 2022 campaign, with a seventh at Sunset Speedway and a third at Peterborough Speedway. He knows how to get the job done in a midget, as a past feature winner.

Dan Bound has been impressive since joining the tour in 2022, with a fourth at Sunset Speedway and a fifth at Peterborough Speedway.

Jessica James arguably enters the weekend with the most momentum, having scored four victories in the last six races, including the past three straight.

Mikey Homewood’s return to the tour has been solid, with a ninth at Sunset Speedway, followed by an eighth at Sauble Speedway.

Kayla Semple has been getting faster since her debut in the series, gaining experience on a weekly basis.

Dan Kviring hopes to shake the early bad luck that he has experienced after failing to finish the first two events of the 2022 campaign.

Warren Mahony proved he was not fazed as a rookie on the tour, scoring a 10th-place finish at Peterborough Speedway.

Be sure to catch these stars, as well as several others on-track this weekend at Sunset Speedway. The track will also have their Limited Late Models, Mini Stocks, and Bone Stocks in action.
