PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — While he has become known for his success behind the wheel of a Late Model, Rick Spencer-Walt will return to his Super Stock roots for the Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway for JDC Motorsports.
“I really can’t wait,” he said. “I love the division and a lot of the drivers; it should be a good challenge!”
Spencer-Walt knows what it takes to get the job done, as evident by winning a pair of Super Stock Championships at Barrie Speedway, as well as securing the ACC victory in 2011.
“I think our goals for the weekend are give it everything we got to be up front and battle with the best,” he commented. “But a solid top 5 we will be happy with!”
Spencer-Walt’s success at Peterborough has extended beyond the Super Stock division, as he has won the Autumn Colours Classic behind the wheel of a Limited Late Model, as well as a track championship.
“I think the secret to Peterborough is not always having the best car, but being the smartest driver,” he explained. “There’s one lane and you don’t wanna be out of it so just setting up passes and making moves have to be precise and at the right time.”
Spencer-Walt enters the Classic off a great season at Sunset Speedway that saw him score three feature victories en route to winning the 2021 Limited Late Model Track Championship. It marked the second straight track title for Spencer-Walt Motorsports at Sunset, and follows suit with titles at Peterborough, Sauble Speedway, and in the Great Lakes Concrete Series.
The opportunity comes about through a partnership between Jeff Drimmie, K.O.D Disposal, and JDC Motorsports
