Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods At Sauble Speedway Preview

SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — After a trip to the car wash to clean things up a little, the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods are set for their third appearance at Sauble Speedway on Saturday, August 21 for their fourth event of 2021.

The first two events have been won by Billy Alderson Jr. and Rob Bromley, and both are expected to be part of the field this weekend. However, there are several possibilities of other drivers breaking through, given the variety of talent through the field.

Billy Alderson Jr. has only made a single appearance on the tour this year, scoring an eighth in the season opener. But you can’t discount him, as evident by the win in 2018 and multiple past top-five appearances.

Rob Bromley won the series’ most recent event at Sauble Speedway behind the wheel of the Corvair, and will return to the same place this season, but driving the Javelin instead. He has been solid to start 2021 with the No. 6 entry, placing fourth at Sunset Speedway.

Hawn will be hoping to keep the positive momentum rolling as he enters this weekend as the all-time series leader in race wins, hoping to return to victory lane following four top-five’s to kick off 2021. In his two appearances at Sauble, he has scored a pair of top-five’s, including a runner-up.

Jeremy McLean hopes the speed shown with Brandon Crumbie’s runner-up behind the wheel at Brighton Speedway. He was solid in both Sauble appearances with a track-best fifth in 2018.

Jesse Kennedy will be looking to make it four podiums in a row after scoring a victory and a pair of thirds. He was also solid in his first appearance at Sauble with a seventh.

Steve Book heads into the weekend with a smile on his face following no finishes worse than sixth in his last seven series starts, including the win at Brighton Speedway. He has ran well in both Sauble appearances with a pair of thirds.

Paul Senior hopes to have a good outing following a rough trip to Brighton Speedway that resulted in some damage. Fortunately, he has ran well in both past appearances at Sauble, with a pair of top-five’s.

Sean Walker will hope to improve upon his season-best eighth at Brighton Speedway in his first appearance at Sauble. It will also mark his teammate Gary Hannah’s first Hot Rod trip to the beach, following a ninth on the dirt.

After a rough couple of weeks, Amanda Balson will hope to turn things around and get back to the same type of performance that carried her to a runner-up in her Hot Rod debut at Sunset.

Jaymee Adams will hope to break into the top-10 this weekend, following a 16th in the season opener, and a 11th on the dirt by her father Steve. While this is her first year of Hot Rod competition, she has a lot of laps under her belt at Sauble Speedway, being her home track.

Kyle Fetterly knows what it takes to score a victory, as evident by doing so at Sunset Speedway on August 8. He hopes to carry the success forward in his first trip to the beach following an eighth-place finish at Brighton Speedway.

Steve Mayhew enters this weekend coming off a solid 10th-place finish at Brighton Speedway, hoping the success translate to the asphalt. He finished sixth in his lone appearance at Sauble.

Ryan Cowan scored a career-best fifth last weekend at Brighton Speedway, and will hope to improve upon his 16th from Sauble last season.

Dalen Martin heads into this weekend following a 10th-place finish in his latest tour appearance at Sunset Speedway. He has ran stronger than that at Sauble, scoring a ninth in 2019.

Robertson and Co. Racing has made a statement in their short time on the OSCAAR tour, which they look to continue this weekend. Drew Robertson picked up a sixth with the Ford Torino at Sunset, with the team hoping to improve on Brandon Robertson’s 13th from the 2018 Sauble event.

Their second entry with Marty Monette has followed the same tune, following a top-10 to start the season at Sunset. While it will be his first start with the series at the beach, he has ran there previously in a super stock.

Dan Rothwell hopes to break into the top-15 this weekend, after a season-best 16th in the series’ most recent trip to Sunset Speedway. Notably, he placed 19th in his lone Sauble appearance.

Trevor Thompson has started off the season on a strong note, as evident by a pair of top-five’s at Sunset Speedway. He hopes to carry that forward in his first appearance at the beach.

Jeremy Taggert hopes to keep the positive momentum rolling following an eighth-place finish in his last appearance with the tour at Sunset Speedway.

After mechanical issues in his latest tour appearance, Adrian Foster is hoping to turn things around, and possibly better his eighth-place finish from the season opener. Notably, he scored a runner-up at Sauble Speedway last season.

Beyond the drivers mentioned here, there is the possibility to see other faces make an appearance this weekend at Sunset Speedway. The class is expected to grow through the summer, with several drivers already stating that they will be ready in the coming weeks.

The 2021 OSCAAR Hot Rod season is sponsored by Knightworks Design and The Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Campground.
