OUTLAW MIDGETS SUNSET SPEEDWAY RACE PREVIEW

INNISFIL, Ontario — After a couple successful events to start the 2021 campaign, the Outlaw Midgets are back in action this weekend on Saturday, August 7 at Sunset Speedway.

Mike Bradley will enter this weekend as the points leader, following two straight victories. Though as a whole, the success is no surprise as he has now scored 11 straight top-five finishes. There’s no reason he cannot carry the success into this weekend, having scored four podiums in his last six Sunset Speedway appearances.

Richard Woodland also knows what it takes to run well at Sunset, scoring a top-10 in each of his last six events, including a runner-up last month. He enters this weekend looking for a good run, ranked second in the standings following three podiums to start 2021.

Larry Lawson, meanwhile, has finished no worse than fourth in the first three events this season, including a win at Sauble Speedway. He enters the weekend third in points, just 12 markers behind Bradley. He hopes to find the same success which led him to a third last month at Sunset.

Wayne McKibbon is still looking for his first career victory, and will enter this weekend ranked fourth in the standings. He has been strong to start 2021, having scored five top-10 finishes in a row dating back to 2019, including a runner-up at Sauble. Even though he only placed 10thlast month, he knows what it takes to run well at Sunset having scored a pair of top-five’s including a fourth in 2019.

Rob Harrison may be the dark horse to watch, as it seems he gets faster with each bit of experience he gains behind the wheel. It has showed this year with a pair of fifths and an eighth, which improved upon the 13th from his inaugural Outlaw Midget appearance at Sunset in September 2019.

Jody Bound is experiencing a nightmare to start the season, having encountered mechanical issues through the first three events of 2021. With having visited victory lane at Sunset several times previously including in 2019, it’d make a great way to turn things around.

Adam Tyo may be someone to watch, as he has started off the year with a pair of sevenths at Sauble, followed by a ninth at Sunset.

Dave Bradley is proving his brother isn’t the only fast driver in the family, as evident by a fourth-place finish at Sunset last month.

Jamie Kay is off to a solid start for his rookie campaign, following his pair of top-10’s at the beach with a fifth at Sunset Speedway.

Wally Wilson’s return to the midgets has proven to show speed, as he finished sixth at Sunset last month to follow a pair of top-10’s at the beach.

Zach Millman’s first appearance of the season at Sunset showed some promise, as he scored a seventh-place finish.

Kevin Spiez will hope to turn things around this weekend as problems last month at Sunset landed him 11th on the final rundown.

Be sure to catch these stars, as well as several others on-track this weekend at Sunset Speedway. The track will also have their Pro Late Models, Mini Stocks, and Bone Stocks in action.
