INNISFIL, Ontario — Despite suffering mechanical issues in the second heat, Wally Wilson rebounded for a top-10 finish in the Outlaw Midget feature.
Wilson started off the night with a runner-up in his first qualifier, and looked fast in the early laps of the second out front, but ended up in the pits early due to the chain coming off.
Starting 10th in the feature, he would move up to sixth before the caution at the halfway mark for a problem for a fellow competitor. He got a good restart, but ultimately fell back a spot to seventh. However, he did not give up, making the pass back with three laps to go to cross the finish line with a sixth.
He then made the trip to Flamboro Speedway for the APC Series event on Sunday, and managed to avoid all the trouble at every turn in a chaotic event to cross the finish line with a 17th-place finish.
Wilson will be back at Sunset Speedway this weekend for a double header of racing action. He will be behind the wheel of his Pro Late Model on Saturday, followed by the modified on Sunday.
