INNISFIL, Ontario — It was another strong night for SKLD Motorsports on Saturday at Sunset Speedway with a pair of top-six finishes.
Unfortunately, the night did not start off that well as both drivers experienced issues during qualifying. Karlie Wilman missed the first heat due to starter issues, while Andrew Shilling scored a runner-up. It was flipped around for the second, with Shilling having issues as Wilman placed third.
Starting at the back of the feature, the pair ran fifth and sixth through the early stages with Shilling ahead. Shilling would go to make a move for fifth, when contact occurred, causing debris to fall on the track and a yellow flag. As a result, Shilling was put to the rear for the restart.
Wilman got a good restart, putting herself up into fifth, and held on for the rest of the way. Shilling made his way forward, completing a couple passes and caught Wilman for fifth, but was unable to make the pass in finishing sixth.
SKLD Motorsports is proud to be sponsored by Dee’s Original Smoke Shack, Hamilton Contracting, Wilman Haulage, Unique Crew, Short Track Musings, and The Canoe.
