BY THE NUMBERS: Pure Stocks at Flamboro Speedway

The Pure Stocks may have only gotten in four races this season at Flamboro Speedway with COVID-19, but they were packed with a lot of excitement as the top drivers from across the province battled for glory throughout the summer.

1st was the best average finish of all drivers, set by Craig Cole, by winning in his lone start of 2020 at Frostoberfest

feature victories for Gillian Hils led all drivers this season

heat wins for Phil Givens and Steve Finnegan made them the only multi-heat winners this season

2nd was the second-best average finish of all drivers, set by Shawn Soloman, with a runner-up in his lone start of 2020

2nd was the best finish laid down by Nic Ramsay in 2020, coming at Frostoberfest

feature top-five’s for Hils was the most of any driver

feature top-10’s for Hils, David Rockwood, and Kris Lawrence was the most of any driver

3rd was the third-best average finish of all drivers, set by Gary Slama, with a third-place finish at Frostoberfest

b-mains were ran to help set the field, with those being won by Rockwood, Lawrence, and Kyle Lucas

3.75 was the best average finish of drivers to compete in more than one event, set by Hils across all four events

drivers won a feature – Kris Khan, Hils, and Cole

drivers scored more than one top-five feature finish – Khan, Hils, Rockwood, and Givens

5th was the fifth-best average finish of all drivers this season, set by Kenny McNicol, with a fifth in his lone start of 2020

8.5 was the third-best average finish of drivers to run more than one event, set by Finnegan, across a pair of events

10 drivers scored a top-five in both rounds of heat qualifying utilized this season

10.333 was the fifth-best average finish of drivers to run more than one event, set by Leo Labarbera, across three events

19.144 seconds was the quickest lap set in qualifying in October by Nic Ramsay

62 drivers competed in at least one feature this season. That said, more drivers than that showed up across the four races as this does not account for those who failed to qualify for a main event.

71 of Bobby Mercer scored a season-best fourth in the third event of 2020

73 of Jordan Morris scored a season-best third in the second event of 2020

78 of Jo Lawrence scored a best finish of fifth in Pure Stock competition in a year that he won the APC Series Championship as well.
