HAGERSVILLE, Ontario — It’s out of one car, jumping into the other for Wally Wilson as he looks to snag a final run in the Late Model to cap off the season after finishing the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified presented by Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd., Touchwood Cabinets, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop season at Jukasa Motor Speedway.
Wilson started off the day by laying down a lap of 20.990 seconds in qualifying at Jukasa, setting him up to take the green flag in the 18th position for the 40-lap Modified feature. He would work his way up to 15th by the halfway mark of the feature, but fell back a spot in the late stages to finish 16th.
With the modified season to complete, Wilson will get one more chance behind the wheel, driving the No. 69 Pro Late Model at Flamboro Speedway’s Frostoberfest on Saturday. The event will be broadcast on G Force TV at http://www.gforcetv.net, with Race Time Radio doing live coverage over the radio.
“I’m very excited to run Frostoberfest,” Wilson commented. “it’s always one of the best pro late races of the year in Ontario each year!”
Wilson made his Late Model debut earlier this year at Flamboro, before competing in the APC Series event at Sauble Speedway last month. Based on his experience thus far, he’s learned that he needs “to be a lot more aggressive with my driving!”
