INNISFIL, Ontario —- Although there was speed, it certainly wasn’t the day that Coltin Everingham was looking for at Sunset Speedway.
Behind the wheel of the No. 96 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified presented by Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd., Touchwood Cabinets, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop for Wally Wilson Racing, Everingham would post a lap of 14.638 seconds to qualify ninth for the 45-lap feature.
Poised for a top-10 performance, he would be forced down pit road on the opening lap of the event due to one of the control arm shims blowing out. Returning to the track multiple laps down, Everingham was able to run with the top-10 performers, showing speed as he gained seat time towards his next race behind the wheel. He was credited with a 13th-place finish.
On a brighter note, though, Ryan Semple was able to score the victory behind the wheel of the Everingham Racing Super Stock.
Everingham will be back behind the wheel of the familiar No. 48 Super Stock this coming weekend at Peterborough Speedway, before jumping back into the modified at Jukasa Motor Speedway on September 26.
