SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — In a day filled with learning, Wally Wilson walked away from Sauble Speedway with a top-20 finish in his APC Auto Parts United Late Models Series debut.
Admittedly, the day did not start off as strongly with Wilson qualifying 24th for the 100-lap event. It got a little messy mid-way through the feature when he got a piece of a multi-car incident on the frontstretch when a car slowed with a mechanical issue. Despite the adversity, though, Wilson continued to learn a little with each lap, and pushed all the way through to the checkered flag en route to a 20th-place finish.
“Definitely wasn’t the quickest car out there, but it all comes down to getting more seat time,” he reflected. “Learned a lot this weekend, and kept the car in one piece!”
Wally Wilson Racing will be back out at Flamboro Speedway on September 12, but behind the wheel of a modified for the second Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified event of 2020.
