INNISFIL, Ontario — With a little help from a fellow competitor on the final night of competition, Ron Quesnelle was able to finish fourth in the year-end standings.
With the No. 57 Late Model unable to run on Saturday night as a result of a mechanical issue the week prior, Chris McIssac was willing to run Quesnelle’s number to collect points on his behalf. Though to make the deal work per the track rules, Quesnelle would have to run the car through the beginning of the night.
Quesnelle started off solidly, finishing fifth in both the qualifying heats.
Starting 14th for the 75-lap feature, Quesnelle stayed out of trouble through the early laps, getting alongside Stefan Semeraro for 12th on Lap 23. He would get the spot, moving up into 11th by Lap 37. The race’s first caution would come out 11 laps later as a result of a single car spin. Under the caution, the No. 57 team would see a driver change, with Chris McIssac behind the wheel instead of Quesnelle.
Restarting tail of the field, McIssac would move up into ninth by Lap 54, before avoiding the late-race craziness at the front of the field to finish eighth.
Special thanks to Chris McIssac and his team for the favor in allowing Quesnelle to earn the necessary points. Through 16 features this season, the team was able to score 15 top-10 finishes.
