Andrew Shilling Proud of Top-Five Points Finish in Rookie Campaign

INNISFIL, Ontario — Continuing to battle hard on a weekly basis, Andrew Shilling’s perseverance was rewarded in the year-end Signs of Innovation Bone Stock standings with a fifth-place finish in the final rankings.

“Looking back, I thought my season went well overall,” he said. “However, dealing with mechanical problems week in and out had taken a toll on myself and team members. We couldn’t figure out why my car was having so many issues but we worked with what we had.”

Throughout the season, Shilling consistently ran up front, scoring six top-10 finishes throughout the year. On the nights where the team managed to have the No. 29 Bone Stock in perfect condition, he was a top-five contender, scoring a season-best sixth-place finish on a couple occasions. Though his true strength showed through on the nights of struggle, as he did not give up and was able to fight through for some rewarding efforts.

“The thing that stood out most was how well our team managed every week,” he commented. “No matter what obstacle we faced, we managed to get through it. As well as always having support from so many other race teams and people around the track.”

There were also some rough moments on-track with some contact with other drivers, which just taught Shilling to not back down in the future.

“Whether it be from someone trying to chirp you or wreck you on the track, I have been involved in many situations this season, but it wont stop me from continuing,” he said.

Even with the Fall Velocity invitational still on the calendar for the 2019 season, the team has already began focusing efforts towards coming out stronger next year.

“As for my fellow teammates and I, we are planning our strategies for next season,” he commented. “We will be bringing out four new cars and will be fighting for points stronger than ever.”

Throughout the 2019 campaign, Shilling was proud to receive sponsorship support from Orillia Auto Centre, All Area Towing, The Car Guy, Orillia Buy Sell Trade, The Creative Plate Eatery, Canoe Fresh Food Market, RB Graffix, The Water Store Orillia, and Foster Motorsports for 2019.
