SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Returning to the sight of his championship success, Kevin Bridge battled against the best drivers in Ontario for a top-10 finish.
The No. 17 CRX was quick right from the drop of the initial green flag, as he won his first heat, followed by a runner-up in the second qualifier.
Starting eighth for the 50-lap feature, he’d make his way into the top-five in the early stages before the race’s second caution at Lap 7. Restarting on the inside of the fifth row, Bridge moved up into fourth on Lap 13 initially, though ultimately fell back to seventh over the next 11 laps.
The halfway mark of the feature would see Bridge make contact with a fellow competitor as they battled hard in turns one and two. This came back to bite Bridge, with that driver spinning him on the backstretch for the race’s third caution at Lap 30.
Restarting from the tail of the field, he wasted no time making is way to the front, getting back into the top-10 with eight laps to go. He would fall back outside of the top-10, though, before the caution came out with four laps to go for a spin.
Restarting just outside the top-10, Bridge took advantage of the final laps of the race, moving his way forward for a seventh-place finish.
Bridge will now set his sights on returning to Sunset Speedway for their invitational on Saturday, August 18.
