PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — This weekend, the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd OSCAAR Modifieds will take to Peterborough Speedway as we enter the second half of the 2019 campaign. The event provides the perfect opportunity for someone grab hold of the precious momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
Dale Reinhart will hope to return to the top-five, after a 15th-place finish at Flamboro Speedway. Prior to that finish, he had scored three straight top-five finishes. He has posted a track-best finish of fourth at Peterborough Speedway.
Gary Elliott will be looking for another victory, following a sixth-place finish at Flamboro Speedway. In his 10 previous races at Peterborough, he has posted 10 top-10’s with a track-best of fourth.
Jason Keen hopes to keep the steady consistency, after posting a fifth-place finish at Flamboro Speedway. He has posted a track-best of 11th at Peterborough Speedway in August 2018.
Jase Cornell hopes to keep the momentum going following his third straight top-10 finish. He’s been solid at Peterborough Speedway previously, scoring a ninth-place finish in three different occasions.
Luke Gignac enters this weekend with momentum following a fourth-place finish at Flamboro Speedway, marking his fifth straight top-10 of 2019. He has proven to be fast at Peterborough Speedway, winning the Chase for the Colours in August 2017, and no finishes outside of the top-six in his last four starts.
Wally Wilson hopes to score his first top-10 of the season, following three straight 12th-place finishes. For the record, his track-best performance at Peterborough Speedway is 12th, occurring in the 2017 edition of the Autumn Colours Classic.
A.J. Emms enters this weekend with a 30-point advantage over the field following his victory at Flamboro Speedway. He’s done well at Peterborough in the past, scoring six top-five’s in eight starts, including a victory in the 2016 edition of the Autumn Colours Classic.
Kelly Balson has been solid in his first two starts this season, finishing second at Sunset Speedway in June, followed by a victory in July. He will hope to visit the famed winner’s circle once again, just like he did in the 2018 Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway.
Anthony DiBello has had a solid OSCAAR season to date, with no finishes outside of the top-nine in the first five races. He has posted a track-best finish of 19th at Peterborough Speedway, despite being a previous track super stock champion.
Shawn Chenoweth hopes to keep consistency rolling in his favor this weekend, following a third-place finish at Flamboro Speedway. He finished fourth in last year’s Autumn Colours Classic.
Jason Bowden enters this weekend hoping to have a smooth night, as he has began his 2019 campaign with three finishes outside of the top-10.
MavTV Canada Rookie of the Year Points Leader Norman Newman has yet to finish any race this season outside of the top-nine, including a pair of top-five’s. He has experience at Peterborough Speedway virtue of his Living Lighting OSCAAR Pro Sprint.
Cory Horner will be looking to get his season back on-track this weekend. In his nine previous events at Peterborough Speedway, he has only placed outside of the top-seven once, highlighted by a victory in August 2018.
Mike Hearty has had nothing but bad luck to start the 2019 season, something he hopes to change this weekend at Flamboro Speedway. He finished sixth in the 2017 edition of the Autumn Colours Classic.
Bob Franks scored his first career OSCAAR top-10 with a 10th at Peterborough in August 2017, and will hope to do so once again this weekend.
Beyond those mentioned here, there are other drivers that may show-up this weekend so be sure to be in attendance to see these cars in action.
