INNISFIL, Ontario — Laying down quicker lap times than he had done so previously at Sunset Speedway, Wally Wilson appeared to be headed for success before the rains came.
He started off his 2019 Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified season on Saturday by placing seventh in both of his qualifying heats.
He would make it out for practice for Sunday morning, with confidence showing ahead of the 40-lapper. However, rain throughout the afternoon would see the event cut short without the feature being ran. As a result, OSCAAR announced drivers in attendance will be awarded their heat points, as well as 50 show-up points.
Wilson will be back behind the wheel of his No. 69 OSCAAR Modified on Saturday, June 1 at Jukasa Motor Speedway. He will get in some racing before then, though, making his 2019 Outlaw Midget debut on Saturday, May 25 at Full Throttle Motor Speedway.
Wally Wilson Racing will receive sponsorship support from The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, Larry’s Small Engines, Have1.com, NGK Spark Plugs, and Wix Filters for both entries for 2019. He will also be proudly supporting the #BurnOutTheBully campaign and Laps 4 Muscular Dystrophy (L4MD) program.
